Sewer Department
Sewer Charges will be mailed in June to property owners who are connected to our sewer system. Unlike other years, we have changed from quarterly payments to an annual payment.
Water Department
It is the resident’s responsibility to read their own water meter. Water meter cards are mailed to the residents quarterly, and water bills are mailed the following month. Residents who do not submit meter-reading cards for three consecutive quarters will be fined $100. Water readings may be submitted in any of the following ways:
- Mailed in an envelope
- Online (Click Here)
- Dropped off in the mail slot (on the right side of the front door)
- Inside Borough Hall
- Called in to 973-228-6410 ext. 103
Garbage Collection Information
Household garbage is collected twice per week. Please refer to the annual Borough flyer for the trash collection schedule assigned to your street. Bulk garbage is picked up twice a month, on alternating Wednesdays.
- If your household trash collection is on Mondays and Thursdays, Bulk collection will be the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month.
- If your household trash collection is on Tuesdays and Fridays, Bulk collection will be on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.
To report a missed trash collection, please leave a message by calling 973-228-6410 and selecting option 2, then option 1 to leave your address. You will be added to the list for collection later that day or the following day.
All Bulk garbage must be placed at the curb NO later than 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled day.
For Metal collection, please call Town Hall for current information.
All electronics, tires and hazardous household materials are not eligible for collection and must be recycled through the Essex County Public Works Department.

LIBRARY INFORMATION
The Borough of North Caldwell will reimburse residents an amount up to 50% with a maximum of $150.00 for annual library fees upon completing a reimbursement application obtained at Borough Hall. Attaching a receipt of your payment, indicating which library (Caldwell, West Caldwell, Fairfield, Cedar Grove, or Little Falls)
